An Umpire is an official who watches a game or match closely to enforce the rules and arbitrate on matters arising from the play. An umpire is instrumental in recording the total score of the game and keeping track of the proceedings of the match.

1. Complete 10 + 2 in any stream
2. Complete Bachelor's degree (B.P.Ed) in Physical Education or any related subject
3. Register with your State Cricket Association
4. Qualify the Umpire Certification Examination (To become an umpire with the BCCI, you must first officiate in local cricket matches and then pass the BCCI Level 1 and Level 2 exams)
