The Housekeeping Attendant (Manual Cleaning) is employed by varied industries and establishments. They are responsible for manually cleaning the property’s floors, vertical surfaces, furniture and fixtures. The individual cleans the internal and external areas of the property such as restrooms, offices, auditorium, lifts, utility rooms, canteen, pantry, and common areas. The individual uses manual tools to sweep, scrub, mop, wipe and dispose waste.

Minimum Qualification • After completing class 8 and being 18 years of age you can enrol for National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF)* level 4 Housekeeping Attendant (Manual Cleaning) course. Minimum 1 years as Housekeeping Attendant - Manual Cleaning is preferable.
* NSQF is a nationally integrated education and competency-based framework that enables persons to acquire desired competency levels in a chosen field. NSQF includes vocational education, vocational training, general education and technical education which prepares an individual for the job market with competent skills. An individual may return at any time to upgrade skills after gaining experience

Evanisha was born on April 15, 1995, in Umjarasi village of Nongpoh, Ri-Bhoi district of Meghalaya. She has two brothers and three sisters. She lives with her mother and siblings. In the year 2014, when her father passed away, it was the beginning of serious family problems. It was then that her friend informed her about the skills training program at Don Bosco Tech Society and asked her to visit any one of the centres in Shillong. Taking her friend’s advice she visited Rural Resource and Training Centre (RRTC). Upon arrival at the centre, she was counselled by the trainers who after evaluating her interests helped to decide to enrol her for Housekeeping Manual Cleaning Attendant Service. She completed a 60-day training in Housekeeping Attendant (Manual Cleaning) from (RRTC), Umran, Ri-Bhoi district of Meghalaya. Training in Bosco Plus (Dance, Theatrical program, etc.) and Life Skills helped her become confident. She appeared for an interview and was hired to work for WeWork TCFM, Bangalore. Evanisha is currently working at WeWork Symbiosis, TCFM as a Housekeeping Trainee and earning a monthly stipend of Rs12,000/- with free food and accommodation.*
