A draughtsman is responsible for preparation, correction and documentation of all types of drawings prepared for construction detailing all the relevant plans and details. They are also expected to understand the process and equipment requirements and also to identify the risks involved in the construction process.

Entry Pathway
Minimum Qualification • After completing class 12 as well as an ITI certification, and being 18 years of age, you can enrol for National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF)* level 5 Draughtsman training
* NSQF is a nationally integrated education and competency-based framework that enables persons to acquire desired competency levels in a chosen field. NSQF includes vocational education, vocational training, general education and technical education which prepares an individual for the job market with competent skills. An individual may return at any time to upgrade skills after gaining experience

Rohit Prajapati pursued a diploma in architecture after passing 10th standard. Even after completing the diploma, he was not sure of which career to choose, so he started interning and assisting on various construction projects. His hard work paid off as he was on salary after a year and was skilled enough to do drawing, conceptual work and landscape work.
