A distributor salesman plans sales call on daily basis and learns to make sales pitch as per customer need. S/He thoroughly understands the features, advantage and benefits of the products. Their responsibility includes identifying new outlets to increase sales of the products. Providing problems resolution related to the products is also a part of the job profile. Responsibility for increasing demand at point of sale by creating visibility for the products by putting Point of sales material and merchandising elements like in-store visibility of the products being showcased is also the part of the role.

Minimum Qualification
After completing class 10 and being minimum 18 years old you can enrol for National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF)* level 4 Distributor Salesman course. Having about 1 year experience will be an added advantage.
*NSQF is a nationally integrated education and competency-based framework that enables persons to acquire desired competency levels in chosen field NSQF includes vocational education vocational training, general education and technical education which prepares an individual for the job market with competent skills. An individual may return at any time to upgrade skills after gaining experience

Tankadhara Mohanta comes from a financially weaker section of the society based in Mayurbhanj, Odisha. After completing class 1 2 he needed to work to support his family and that is the time he came to know about the DDU-GKY programme from one of his relatives. He then attended a counselling camp, which was organized by the SRLM in the block called Rasgovindpur. After completion his training, he got his first iOb in a local Agarbatti Marketing company in Baleswar. After one year, he got the chance to MINISO, a Japanese Designer Brand, in Hyderabad as a Sales Executive in one of the Retail Stores of MINISO. Within a very short time of just 2 years, he got 3 promotions and is now serving at the position of an Area Manager. He is stationed at Bhubaneswar and managing 48 Retail Stores of MINI SO located in different places of India earning 45,000 rupees per month.*
