Auxiliary Nurse and Midwifery (ANM) is a profession that deals with nursing, specializing in the field of maternity care. Besides offering emergency health care and treatment to minor ailments, an ANM nurse assists in setting up operation theatre, taking care of various equipment, maintaining records, and also taking care of the patients' needs and administering timely medication to them.

1. Complete 10+2 in the Science stream (Physics, Chemistry and Biology)
2. Pursue a Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc) in Nursing (GNM/ANM)
3. Pursue a Diploma course in Nursing (ANM or Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery)
Entrance is merit based in many colleges while few colleges have an ANM Entrance exam

Work Environment: It is not a desk job and does not require travelling. Part-time work and contractual jobs are available. Nurses usually work in shift system. Hospitals/clinics usually work for 6 to 7 days a week and 8 to 9 hours everyday. This may vary from hospital to hospital
