An Automotive Electrician needs to assess service and repair of the electrical and the electronic parts of a vehicle. They analyse the various electrical sub-systems across the vehicle’s body. Automotive Electrician are trained to repair and maintain all these parts.

Entry Pathway
Minimum Qualification • After completion of class 10 and minimum age required is 18 years old for enrolling for National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF)* Level 4 course for Automotive Electrician
OR • You have existing certificate for NSQF* (Four Wheeler Service Assistant) with 1-2 Years of experience you can opt for Automotive Electrician Level 4 course
• Driving License and Basic Computer skills is a requirement
OR
A Diploma in Automotive Electrical Course from Industrial Training Institute. After the ITI Electrician Course you can go for a Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Direct 2nd year) for 2 years. And after the completion of diploma you can go in for B.Tech/BE (2nd year ) and complete it In 3 years.

Place of work: Automobile service centres, dealerships and manufacturing plants
Work environment: Generally you have to work for 8/9 hours per day for 6 days a week. Work may involve shifts and overtime during busy seasons
The approx. salary of an Automotive Electrician ranges between INR 12,000 - 16,000* per month
