Arbitration is private dispute resolution procedure chosen by the parties instead of heading towards the courts for the resolution of their dispute. An Arbitrator is the one who oversees this entire process of dispute resolution. In India, as per the law, a person of any nationality may be an arbitrator and the parties are free to agree on a procedure for appointing the arbitrator or arbitrators. Otherwise it does not specifically lay down any qualification for arbitrators
