Dr. Sumohana S. Channappayya (Member, IEEE) received the B.E. degree from the University of Mysore, India, in 1998, the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from Arizona State University, Tempe, in 2000, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, in 2007. He is currently an Associate Professor of electrical engineering at IIT Hyderabad, where he is also the Director of the Laboratory for Video and Image Analysis (LFOVIA). His research interests include image and video quality assessment, multimedia communication, and biomedical imaging. He was a recipient of the Excellence in Teaching Award from IIT Hyderabad in 2013 and 2017.*
