Ramesh had a Master's degree in Sanskrit language and literature from Madras University and a Doctorate from Karnataka University, Dharwad. He was awarded "Honour of Excellence" by then Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh, in recognition of his contribution to the field of Epigraphy, in 201 1 . He passed away in 2013.*
