An Auto Service Technician play an important part in the service, maintenance and mechanical repairs of any part of the motor vehicle. Apart from maintenance and repairing of the vehicle they are responsible for procuring workshop supplies and tools as directed by their supervisors. They also maintain an inventory of tools and spare parts for vehicles.

Minimum Qualification • After completion of class 8 and minimum age required is 18 years old for enrolling for National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF)* Level 3 course for Auto service technician

Work environment: Generally you have to work for 8/9 hours per day for 6 days a week. Work may involve shifts and overtime during busy seasons

Harjindar Singh is the elder son of a family with one sister and two brothers. After completion of his class 12 examinations he had been looking for a job. He then came to know of MITCON and the opportunity of training in the automotive sector followed by a job. He contacted the field staff of MITCON who made him aware of the skill development program in two wheeler repairing being conducted. It was a free course being conducted by the Ministry of MSME with MITCON as a partner institution. He then started working under the supervision of a senior service manager at a Bajaj Service Station.
